I am so excited! It was a piece of cake and only $99.00 (plus tax and shipping) to own my own business. How cool is that? You log in with your facebook account, fill in a little info. and that is is! What really impressed me is that now I will get my personalized starter kit. I get to choose what color business cards I want (I chose pink because I LOVE it) and I get to decide what information I want on them too. Then, I had to write a bio about myself (which I would much rather prefer to write about someone else) that goes on the back of the product cards. Instead of having expensive catalogs that I don't want to give out to everyone, I get 100 product cards! My bio is on one side, then the product info is on the other side. I will want to hand them out to everyone that I come in contact with! I am really going to keep them with me at all times, then if I am at a store or somewhere where I see someone that takes good care of themselves that I can tell would love the product, I am going to give one to them.
Total Hair Dresser RUSH!!!
Julie was one of my cute Young Women when I was an advisor several years ago. She is amazing. I think about who I would like my five daughters to turn out like and it would be just like her. She just got married last month and I wanted to feature her in my blog for a couple of reasons. One, she decided to cut 11 inches off her hair and is planning to donate it locks of love. That is a total rush for me when someone decides on such a big change. The second reason is that she did things right! She didn't get married too young...she graduated from college before she got married. She has her head on straight, is beautiful on the outside and inside and is so talented. I think her hair cut turned out so cute! I love her so much! What is Locks Of Love?
It is a non-profit organization that helps children under 21 years of age who have experienced hair loss for a number of reasons. Not all hair can be accepted. Below is a list of guidelines and tips if you have ever considered donating before. Hair that has been permed or colored darker can be donated. Hair that has been highlighted can not be donated.GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTABLE DONATIONS
- Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable.
- Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.
- Hair that has been bleached (usually this refers to highlighted hair) is not usable. If unsure, ask your stylist. We are not able to accept bleached hair due to a chemical reaction that occurs during the manufacturing process. **If the hair was bleached years ago and has completely grown out it is fine to donate.
- Hair that is swept off of the floor is not usable because it is not bundled in a ponytail or braid.
- Hair that is shaved off and not in a ponytail or braid is not usable. If shaving your head, first divide hair into multiple ponytails to cut off.
- We cannot accept dreadlocks. Our manufacturer is not able to use them in our children’s hairpieces. We also cannot accept wigs, falls, hair extensions or synthetic hair.
- Layered hair is acceptable if the longest layer is 10 inches.
- Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails.
- Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.
- 10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.
HOW TO DONATE
- 10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.
- Hair must be in a ponytail or braid before it is cut.
- Hair must be clean and completely dry before it is mailed in.
- Place the ponytail or braid inside of a plastic bag, and then inside of a padded envelope.

Sr. Citizen Birthday Party!
My 11 year old Kaitlyn has more school spirit than any other kid I have seen in my life. It is pretty stinking cute. She also loves to dress up and when I say she goes all out, she goes all out! I thought I would blog about this as an idea for a Halloween costume. She went to a birthday party where they were having a Sr. Citizen costume contest and the moms there that were helping were nurses in the rest home. Very creative idea! Kaitlyn won 1st place and was pretty proud of it!
Here is a list of tips that made it really fun:
1. She smeared egg whites on her face, then let them dry. That way when she moved her face, she had wrinkles in all the right places!
2. We put her hair in curlers, then sprayed with colored hairspray that we purchased at Sally's beauty supply.
3. We had lots of little signs pinned to her that said things like "slow moving vehicle, arthritis cream, world's greatest ageless wonder"
4. She had nude knee highs and she wore one up and one rolled down to her ankle.
5. We got little glasses and gross teeth at the dollar store.
6. We padded her behind with a small pillow.
7. We used some of my rounds weights for her saggy chest and put a couple pair of socks in her cleavage to keep them apart.
8. She also had a cane and a rain bonnet.
9. Don't forget the funny old voice and say the cute things Sr. Citizens say!
Janessa got a job at Fotofly in Draper and it was hippie day. She rocked it big time!
