Have you ever been in Facebook Jail?

So, yes.  I have been in Facebook Jail.  About 4 times and it really stinks.  Heaven forbid we get punished for being social on social media!  Seriously?  I am the first Presenter of Younique and look how many Presenters we have now.

Okay, isn't that totally cray cray?  We launched in Nov. 2012.  I NEVER in my WILDEST dreams thought we would get to this point!  So, the way you get put in FB jail is if you request too many people who don't accept your friend request or say they don't know you outside of FB, then your account is flagged and for 30 days, you can't request friends or send messages to anyone you are not friends with.  It is really frustrating.  I think it should totally be the choice of the individual whether or not they become friends with you or not.  Other social medias are not nearly as strict.  How are you supposed to network?  A lot of the friend requests I send are to new Presenters.  I like to be friends with them because then you can see their posts and get ideas from them.  Their success is my success.  My name comes up to as Jessica Hermansen - Younique Presenter so I would think they would see the word Younique and just accept my friend request.  I wish I could personally call up Mark Zuckerberg and tell him how I feel!  Facebook doesn't even have a phone number you can call.  You can send an email but they don't personally respond but "take their email suggestions very seriously".  Has anyone else out there been in FB jail before?  Please comment below and tell me your opinion.  Thanks!

I truly do not show these figures with a spirit of boasting or bragging.  I post them with gratitude.  I post them with belief that if you want something bad enough, you will get it.  This has not been easy and has not been a get rich quick overnight thing either.  I have never ever done direct sales before.  If I can do this, so can anyone!  If you are passionate about what you are doing, people sense that and will be excited too and want to try your product!  Younique has changed my life!  I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity.  I has been a huge blessing to my family.  My Younique journey continues!

The Salad Barbie dress by my 4 year old!

       As a mom of seven kids, I thought I had seen it all.  Today my 4 year old showed me something I had never seen before.  She LOVES Barbie's.  She said to me today, "Mom, I want to make a salad dress for my Barbies."  I have learned in parenting classes to use your "yes" tool as much as possible, then when you need to use the "no" tool, you have already made plenty of deposits to make a withdrawal.  In my head I was thinking, "What in the world????"  But I smiled and said sure!  It was quite the process and I had to be heavily involved.  She was quite disappointed and the dress started to wilt.  

      My brilliant 13 year old, who is one of the most artistic, creative people I know, overheard this tragic dilemma.  She suggested we print out a picture of lettuce and make a paper dress.  GENIUS!!!  Why didn't I think of that???  Hence, that is the picture on the left below.  It sort of has a Tinkerbell feel!  It think it turned out pretty darn cute!  I was SO grateful to Kaitlyn for coming to the rescue of the wilted lettuce dress....I mean, salad dress.  Hey!  It is organic!  LOL  Maybe she is a little fashion designer in the works.  I asked her where she got the idea and she said she thought it in her mind.  Wonder what else goes on in that cute little head of hers!  There is a first time for everything and I won't be surprised if Lady Gaga contacts us soon for the pattern.

My Younique News of the Week

I am ecstatic!  I hit over 10,000 views on my blog this week and to celebrate, I am going to do a drawing for a set of 3D Fiber Lashes and 3 mineral pigments of your choice for anyone who has ever placed an order on my website!  Who doesn't love FREE STUFF???  This is my way of saying thank you for your support with my business!  I am going to extend it through the end of April to allow anyone else who would like to enter.  Thank you again and good luck!

Feeling Famous for 45 mins! Quetzalcoatl!

So this week I had a "first".  I have a friend who has written an amazing book on tape called Quetzalcoatl.  He asked me to have my kids listen to it.  My kids LOVED it.  They were silent in the car when I put it on and their ears were glued to the speakers.  I loved that they had to use their imaginations while they listened. It is three CDs long ( 2 hours) but is wonderful!  It is such a FUN adventure and the actors are amazing, but even more I loved the sound effects and the full orchestra.  It is full of wonderful lessons for kids.  Anyhow, as a mom of seven, my friend asked me to do a commercial for him.  In return, he would shoot a commercial for me about Younique!  So, Wed. of this past week, I felt famous for 45 mins!  It was super fun!  My home was transformed into a studio!  There were tons of lights, I had a wired mic and one above me.  Then there were two camera men and suddenly I felt super nervous!

Luckily, they were very patient with me and super helpful.  Although I am not an actress, I am passionate about the two things I talked about it so that part was super easy.  Stay tuned for the final product!  There is some editing that needs to be done.  I am excited to see the results!
